Our Cause
A Greater New Orleans where every woman and family can rise, rebuild, and reclaim a stable future.
Vision
Mission
Talitha Cumi Missions advances stability for women and families through supportive-housing pathways, faith-rooted support, workforce readiness, and community knowledge preservation.

A Lifetime of Leadership and a Continuing Call to Serve
Before founding Talitha Cumi Missions, Donna M. Brown dedicated nearly three decades to developing people, strengthening organizations, and serving New Orleans through periods of growth and crisis. From groundbreaking hospitality leadership to standing with first responders during Hurricane Katrina, her people-first stewardship became part of the foundation of the mission today.

Why Our Model Is Different
We begin with what people already carry—not with what systems say they lack. Talitha Cumi Missions brings faith-rooted care, community knowledge, and practical pathways together so women and families can rebuild stability, strengthen their voice, and move toward lasting opportunity.
FAITH-ROOTED — We honor dignity, hope, spiritual wholeness, and the God-given worth of every person.
COMMUNITY-LED — People with lived experience help shape the questions, priorities, decisions, and solutions that affect their lives.
PEOPLE-CENTERED — Support is relational, responsive, and connected to practical pathways—not a one-size-fits-all program.
Current Work and Emerging Impact
Talitha Cumi Missions is advancing a focused portfolio of work designed to strengthen stability, voice, and opportunity for women, families, and communities.
HOUSING PATHWAY DEVELOPMENT — We are evaluating property and partnership opportunities that can support stable, affordable housing for women and families in Greater New Orleans.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT — We are listening with residents, service partners, and people with lived experience so future priorities and programs reflect real community conditions.
RESEARCH AND FRAMEWORK DEVELOPMENT — We are developing practical, community-centered models that translate lived experience into knowledge, leadership, and systems improvement.
KNOWLEDGE PRESERVATION — We are creating tools, publications, and learning pathways that help communities preserve, activate, and transmit the knowledge they already carry.
This work is progressing through disciplined planning, partnership building, and responsible readiness. Programs, enrollment, and services will be announced only when they are ready to launch.
Partnership and Funding Priorities
Talitha Cumi Missions welcomes mission-aligned partners who can help move carefully developed pathways toward sustainable community impact.
PHILANTHROPIC INVESTMENT — Flexible and catalytic funding can strengthen organizational capacity, planning, participant supports, workforce readiness, and phased housing development.
PROPERTY AND DEVELOPMENT PARTNERSHIPS — Property owners, developers, lenders, and technical partners can help evaluate acquisition, lease, rehabilitation, and site-development opportunities for future supportive housing.
RESEARCH AND LEARNING PARTNERSHIPS — Universities, healthcare organizations, and community institutions can collaborate on ethical research, evaluation, knowledge preservation, and responsible dissemination.
COMMUNITY AND SERVICE PARTNERSHIPS — Trusted community organizations, employers, referral partners, and qualified providers can help connect participants with coordinated opportunities and specialized services.
We welcome conversations with partners whose commitments align with dignity, community voice, responsible stewardship, and lasting opportunity. Partnership discussions do not represent active enrollment, guaranteed funding, or confirmed program availability.
